Materializing for one day only at Magna Science and Adventure Centre , the Yorkshire Cosplay Con is a home grown event designed to bring together those with similar interests for a day of fantasy and fun.
Soon to be 10 years old (we know, we can’t believe it either!), the convention prides itself on a welcoming atmosphere calling in fans of all ages and genres. From children in costumes and face paint to hard core cosplayers and anything in-between, all are welcome and, although a costume may not be required to join in the fun, we cannot guarantee that the cosplay fever won’t be catching.
Throughout the day, the convention boasts a variety of activities and with 2 stages there’s enough to keep the whole family entertained. Whether you want to run away in a TARDIS, save the world with Superheroes, or even just chat with our special guests while getting your face painted like Yoda, we’ve got you covered.
For the more daring amongst you there are also competitions for both adults and children alike so if you’re feeling talented, artistic, or just love the costume you’re in, why not sign up and take the chance? (Places for the talent contest are limited however, so if you’re interested, drop us a message beforehand and we’ll save you a space in the spotlight.)
If these aren’t enough to tickle your fancy, then how about the specialist gaming areas featuring retro arcade cabinets and a variety of table-top games set up for your enjoyment?
Want something else? Feel free to peruse our plethora of stalls and workshops boasting anything from dolls and clothing, to manga, comics, games, DVDs and even those elusive items that even we can’t name but will probably appear at some point regardless.
Surrounding all of this, the Yorkshire cosplay community breathes life into all those fandoms held near and dear to our hearts, with characters from the most obscure cult classics mingling with well-loved favourites, ensuring that, if nothing else, the day will leave you swimming in photos and special memories. Our friendly community and fun filled events have made us one of the biggest events on the calendar, but we’re always willing to welcome new friends so, if any of this speaks to you and your interests, why not join us on the 30th of May 2020?
