What is Yorkshire Cosplay Con?

Yorkshire Cosplay Con (YCC for short) is a family friendly, fun Cosplay, Anime, Gaming, Sci-fi and Comic Book convention that takes place in Yorkshire. We started life as a small gathering for like minded fans in Doncaster and have quickly become Yorkshire Favourite Convention.

Do I have to Come in Cosplay?
A -
Cosplay is optional, so come in what makes you feel comfortable. If you decide to cosplay as we often encourage people to do, please remember this is a family friendly event. Do not wear anything discriminative, offensive or too revealing “please think of the CHILDREN!”

My Cosplay includes a weapon/prop will I be allowed to bring it?
A -
Yes we understand that the prop can make the outfit. We do ask however that you keep things sensible, for example we ask that weapons like swordsare made from wood or plastic, metal blades must be dull, and should be kept sheathed except for photo opportunities. If anyone is caught using a weapon or prop carelessly, will result in being escorted out of the event with no ticket refund. We treat matters like this seriously, so please no not ruin anyone else's fun.

Is Yorkshire Cosplay Con Disabled friendly?

We here at Yorkshire Cosplay Con pride ourselves on providing a top class experience for all. So to keep our event fully accessible for everyone the entire convention takes place on the ground floor.

Am I allowed to take photographs and video?
A -
We welcome you to take as many photographs and videos as you can, although please be aware that if someone asks you not to, please adhere to their wishes. No photography or videos are allowed to be taken for financial gain, they are only allowed to be used for personal use unless cleared and agreed by Yorkshire Cosplay Con management in writing.

We love to see all the exciting photos that people take and so we would love it if you guys can share some of your pictures of the event with us. So please drop them in a email at: info@yorkshirecosplaycon.co.uk or share your photos with us on facebook, twitter or any other social media sites!

Will my photograph be taken or will I be filmed?
A -
Because of the nature Yorkshire Cosplay Con we attract press and media attention, which means that there may be film crews, photographers, publications and broadcasters in attendance. Also other attendees may wish to take photos if they like your outfit.

By attending Yorkshire Cosplay Con you are agreeing that you are allowing press crews and Yorkshire Cosplay Con to use your image in productions and publications.

How do I Support/Sponsor Yorkshire Cosplay Con?

Over the years we have worked with a large variety of company such as Genki Gear, MVM Entertainment and Third Window Films, whom have been loyal supporters of the convention.

Sponsorship comes in a variety of ways such as supplying vouchers or prizes for our contests as well as providing our guests a free service or workshop, such as origami, caricature and card gaming tournament, which have been rather popular with our attendees. Providing a free workshop can be beneficial for for many companies as it can be a demonstration of the services you can provide.

In exchange we will offer our sponsors/supporters a variety of cross advertising opportunities to help get their company's name out there! For any enquires or further information please us our Get Involved Form

How do I apply to trade at Yorkshire Cosplay Con?

Where can I find lost items?
A -
If you find a lost item during the event, please hand it into the Help Desk or to the Stage to take care of. If you have lost an item, please go to the Help Desk to report the lost item.

Is there any food or drink available to purchase?
A -
Yes Sheffield Area has 2 food service areas that will be open through out the day. One will be on the Red concourse the other is on the Blue concourse.
For other events please check he event page. Most venue will have food available but if no there will be places locally that will be able to provide food and drink.

Is there a cash point at the venue?
A -
This depends on the venue for the event. Some venus do and some don't however there is normally one close by to the venues we choose. Please be aware that some of the vendors at Yorkshire Cosplay Con events do take card payments.

Is there an age limit?
A -
We are a family friendly convention open to all ages. However, we ask that under 12's are accompanied by an adult.

How do I enter a contest?

Our contests are open to all ticket holders and to enter the wide selection of contests you will need to fill out a application form which can be found through our events page.
