Katie White - Art Workshop
Katie has always been a lover of art and creative works, drawing from the day she worked out you draw with crayons and don't stick them up your nose. Her art was born of a love of the animation, comics, gaming and films in the 80s when she was a child and as she discovered the world of digital art in her mid-teens she began to teach herself how to use the programs available to her to bring a whole new life to her colourful and cartoony creations.
Although she works predominantly in the digital field every one of her creations begins life as a paper and pencil drawing and through this life-long hobby she now works as a freelance artist and illustrator creating bright and colourful pieces of art, clothing and accessories as well as handmade goods featuring her art.
Katie is pleased and excited to share her work with you during Yorkshire Cosplay Con this year and is going to be hosting a workshop all about Kawaii art! She will introduce you to the concept of Kawaii art and what it is, as well as showing you some of the basics to drawing in this style, focusing on her true guilty pleasure, cute food and objects! Because of the lovely summer season (fingers crossed for sunshine everyone!) Katie will draw some of your favourite tasty summer treats and goodies and you are welcome to draw-along as she shows you step-by-step how she works before her art reaches the computer. Some of the workshop will be set aside for her to answer any questions you might have relating to her art and kawaii art, so please feel free to join Katie on the day and share in some kawaii fun and get creative!
